Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam: Greatness Lies behind Simplicity & Honesty.

dr apj abdul kalam

Many articles have been published on Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam after he took last breath at IIM Shillong on 27th July 2015. The inspirational journey which started on 15th October 1931 in Rameswaram, small town located in Southern India, ended in 2015 after writing history. There are so many things already published on him that nothing is left for me to add in the list. But not devoting a blog on his name will be injustice with the person from whom I get inspiration. It was really touching when the news channels flashed about the sudden death of Missile Man who was not only former President of India but also a leader who inspired millions of youth all across the country.

every youth wants to be unique that is YOU. But the world around you, is doing its best, day and night, just to make you everybody else. The challenge, my young friends is that you have to fight the hardest battle which any human being can ever imagine to fight and never stop fighting until you arrived at your destined place that is UNIQUE YOU! Friends, what will be your tools to fight the battle, what are they? Have a great aim in life, continuously acquire the knowledge, work hard & persevere to realize the great achievement.

Epic: Nitish and Modi Sharing Same Podium.

Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar in Bihar

How many times have you seen Shri Nitish Kumar, Hon’ble CM of Bihar and Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble PM of our country sharing same podium and attending same mob one after another? Well for me it was the first time.

Flashback.

Shri Nitish Kumar is CM of Bihar, belonging to JDU is sitting on chair since 2005 if we leave 9 months Manjhi debacle. BJP and JDU jointly ruled the state for 8 years. As known, Nitish is strictly anti-modi and broke the decade old tie-up with BJP 2 years ago when Modi was elected as PM candidate. The agony was so high that Nitish Kumar resigned from CM post when BJP won the parliament election and Modi was elected as PM of country.

DRDO – CEPTAM 07 Interview Experience/Questions for post STA-‘B’ (Computer Science).

Venue: Board – 2, DLOMI, Lab Quarters, DRDO Township, Hyderabad, Telangana.

Date: 25|05|2015

Panel: 4 Scientists including a lady. 1 was young and 3 were very senior scientists.
Overview: Before mentioning the questions, let me first give you the overview of my interview experience. First of all talking about the atmosphere. The hospitality was incredible. It cannot be compared with the one I experienced during IBPS interview or even at Services Selection Board (SSB) interview for Navy Pilot. People in the management comprise of Technical Officers and Scientists. They help at every single issue no matter how small it would be contradicting with the one I experienced during IBPS where the management put unwanted pressure during the document verification. In between if you feel hungry then move to Officers Mess and have breakfast for Rs 35 and lunch for Rs 50. The funny thing you will find there is the toilet. The toilet was automated, censor enabled with  automatic flush technology. Don’t forget that its DRDO. 30 min to 45 min are the average time spent on single aspirant in the interview. So what they check to select you for DRDO STA-‘B’ post for Department of Computer Science? They completely check your concept and in-depth knowledge of your field. No GK or current affair questions are asked. Its all about you introduction, knowledge in IT and job profile(if you hold work experience). Don’t try to bluff them because they politely ask you the follow-up questions unless they are not assured that you have the thorough knowledge of particular topic. For eg. If you say you are strong in C then they will ask you which topic. Suppose you say Pointer then they will ask you to write program for Linked List Structure on hard copy. So if are going for this job then just focus and study your strong subject and study such that you can answer any kind of question related to selected subject.

Banishing Polythene: Can we take small step towards creation of eco-friendly environment?

Today I was given invitation for attending a seminar on creating awareness among people against use of polythene. The seminar was organized by Cybotech Campus (my college) and chaired by the vice-president of our college, Abhijit Sir. The theme was to make a human chain outside the college, give jute handbags to people and create awareness among them about the severe consequences polythene causes to our environment.

We all know polythene is dangerous for our environment and somewhere in our minds it seldom hits that we shouldn’t use it. In the past many awareness program has been organized to make people avoid use of polythene as much as possible. You also read in newspaper that once or twice in a year, government official wake-up from the sleep and start fining the shops which provide goods in polythene. Still the ground reality isn’t changing. Why?

Picturising The Defeat.

What is defeat for aspirants giving competitive exams? Is it simply not making in the merit list even after surviving in the race till last stage? The answer is Big NO! The meaning is bit broader than it seems, atleast for me. When we are out for achieving our goal, we make too many sacrifices. The level of competition in the field makes us challenge our limits. It makes us leave our hobbies. Sometimes hobbies are more than just a routine exercise. It’s like another life. But the journey towards our goal makes us do such things. We make distance from our friend circle. The same friends who were at sometime reason for our happiness. But it was the demand of time to move forward and take such hard decision. The story doesn’t ends here. Some of us even make distance from our beloved once. The preference changes, once we gave maximum time and space to our love but the demand of time replaces them with books. On the way towards our goal we don’t even care about our health and food. Day or night, all seems to be the same as there left no time to focus on other things than book, copy or notes. After continuous effort for 8 – 12 months comes the day of result and when such hard work and dedication is not rewarded by success then it seems like one of the worst nightmare coming true. The real defeat is not just the failure faced but losing most of the gems of our life on the way and then not getting the output for which we agreed for such compromise.

Self-Centric and Selfish World.

Sitting on a chair and looking out of window, I see a sparrow and think, how lucky is she. She is not one among us. Among us! Yes I am talking about human-kind who is slowly and steadily becoming self-centric and selfish. In coming decades words like “Social” and “Honesty” will be found only in Oxford with a quote “Once Upon a Time”. You might be thinking that why can’t I see the positive aspects of human-kind since there are many of them, what’s making me so concerned that I have developed such view?

To understand my view, let me present you three aspects, first is how an individual is self-centric and selfish, how a group is self-centric or selfish and then how a state or country is the same?

My IBPS Clerk IV Interview Experience.

Date: 21|02|2015
Time: 1 PM
Venue: White House, Patna
My Attire: In the season where summer is at my door, I foolishly wore inner, shirt, tie and SWEATER. I didn’t knew what it would going to cost me.
Writing Topic: “Dahej Ek Abhishaap”
Everything was normal until I reached the door of my panel. I started sweating heavily. But I didn’t bothered, took a deep breath and got ready to enter.
Boy before me came out from the panel. A man with tea went in first. I was waiting for the bell ring. Bell rang but with very low tone, I thought the sound didn’t come from my panel (but I was wrong) so I kept on waiting. The men with tea came out and while he was holding the door, chairman said loudly, “Ajao yaar andar”. First Impression was the worst impression. But wait, it was just the start of such incidence.

Glimpses of My Memory - 12 SSB Bangalore Batch B-SSC 62103.

abhinav sharma at ssb bangalore batch b-ssc 62103

Excerpts from diary -
"The journey started 1 & half months back. From Software Engineer to parcel boy just for someone's GF, from common man to SSB candidate, from thousands to last 121, from last 121 to best 32, from Abhinav to Chest no. 89, from Chest no. 89 to Chest no. 15 but unfortunately didn't make it to best 7 who got recommended for medicals, my best wishes for them. In these 45 days i enjoyed allot & it will remain one of most memorable part of my life. Traveling 1700km for meeting someone, then meeting his GF as parcel boy and the most funny part was everyone was lying to their family members to spend time together. Loosing Galaxy Ace in Mumbai local train, riding FZ at 100km/hr with distance covering more than 100km per day by bike, clearing bank exam accidentally, getting call letter for interview for my dream job, B'Day on train, visiting Taj Mahal for 2nd time, traveling 2700km again, train late by 8hr so missed Shatabdi at Chennai, had to cover 6 hrs journey standing at the gate on the train. Time came for SSB, entered SSB with much expectation, got chest no. 89, cleared stage with 31 others, got new chest no 15, shared room with 7 people, made friends, given test after test, task after task, GD's, lecture(worst exp.), interview, conference, result & out. So on the 6th day of my stay at SSB stage 2 result declared & unfortunately i was not recommended for the medicals. I was just 1 step behind the barrier when i discovered new way of failure. Chest no. 15 returned back to his home and started shaping his photo to get fit into the frame."

Date: 27th January, 2015
Time: 1 PM, Panel - IV
Venue: White House, Patna
Document verification by 4:15. Till then 2 of the munna bhai were sent home.
Sitting on sofa and waiting for my turn. I was 2nd last in my panel.
My turn came around 5:33PM

May I come in sir.

Chairman: Yes
(Entered and wished mam first and then other members. Chairman asked to sit.)

Chairman was in middle. On the left of him was another person (m1), a lady aged 40 was at extreme left. At the right of chairman was another person (m2).

Chairman: So Abhinav, Introduce yourself.
Me: Replied. The last line was, “I hold 15 mon exp in SEO from Semsols Technologies”
Chairman: What? What have you done?
Me: Sir I hold 15 mon exp in SEO from Semsols Technologies.
Chairman: What is this?
Me: Explained.
Chairman (In loud voice): What is the use of your experience of SEO in banking? How will it help us? If a person of management joins defense then what he will do there, he will be useless. If you have to join bank then why did you joined this company. Now why are coming to this sector with SEO experience. You can join some company in Bangalore, get handsome salary and live with your family happily. Why are you coming in this sector? Tell me how you will be useful, what is the use of your experience here?
(He didn’t let me speak, he was demoralizing me)
