DRDO – CEPTAM 07 Interview Experience/Questions for post STA-‘B’ (Computer Science).

Venue: Board – 2, DLOMI, Lab Quarters, DRDO Township, Hyderabad, Telangana.

Panel: 4 Scientists including a lady. 1 was young and 3 were very senior scientists.

Overview: Before mentioning the questions, let me first give you the overview of my interview experience. First of all talking about the atmosphere. The hospitality was incredible. It cannot be compared with the one I experienced during IBPS interview or even at Services Selection Board (SSB) interview for Navy Pilot. People in the management comprise of Technical Officers and Scientists. They help at every single issue no matter how small it would be contradicting with the one I experienced during IBPS where the management put unwanted pressure during the document verification. In between if you feel hungry then move to Officers Mess and have breakfast for Rs 35 and lunch for Rs 50. The funny thing you will find there is the toilet. The toilet was automated, censor enabled with  automatic flush technology. Don’t forget that its DRDO. 30 min to 45 min are the average time spent on single aspirant in the interview. So what they check to select you for DRDO STA-‘B’ post for Department of Computer Science? They completely check your concept and in-depth knowledge of your field. No GK or current affair questions are asked. Its all about you introduction, knowledge in IT and job profile(if you hold work experience). Don’t try to bluff them because they politely ask you the follow-up questions unless they are not assured that you have the thorough knowledge of particular topic. For eg. If you say you are strong in C then they will ask you which topic. Suppose you say Pointer then they will ask you to write program for Linked List Structure on hard copy. So if are going for this job then just focus and study your strong subject and study such that you can answer any kind of question related to selected subject.

They asked me more than 50 questions. I don’t remember all of them. Some of them which I remember are mentioned below:

3. What do you do in SEO? (My job experience)
4. Your strong subjects?
5. Your Project work and the languages in which you worked.
6. What are the benefits of using PHP? (as i had worked on it)
7. What are the different stages through which a process goes in CPU? (Ready, Waiting, etc.)
8. Name some CPU scheduling algorithm.
9. Do you have any knowledge about the cables category used in Networking?
10. Have you ever established network using cables by yourself?
11. What is CAT5/CAT6 cables? Can you name other similar cables? What are difference between them?
12. RJ-45 connector comes with which category of cable?
13. Tell me the speed supported by CAT5/CAT6 cable.
14. Where can you lay down the fibre optics cable?
15. Highest speed observed in transmission.
16. Reason for delay in transmission.
17. Suppose you are in India and your relative in America. You are making communication directly through satellite. You say something from here but it doesn’t reaches the destination exactly at the same time. There is a delay. What is the reason for this delay? Where gone all the high speed transmission medium, fibre optics, etc?
18. How many layers are there in TCP/IP? Name all of them.
19. Other than C, what are your favorite subjects?
20. In C, you are strong in which topic?
21. Write a program for structure using pointer. (as i said Pointer)
22. Write a program for creating Linked List Structure.
23. Write a program having command line argument.
24. Where and how can you use program having command line argument?
25. Have you worked on MVC? If yes then which one?
26. Why didn’t you used MVC for writing programs?
27. What is Java Beans?
28. Benefits of using Java Beans.
29. What is Java Swing?
30. Benefit of using Java Swing.
31. Name some methods of Java Swing.
32. Which object is used by Server in Java Servlet in response to browser query? (Lang used in my B.Sc-IT Project)

35. Which type of method is used in Form?
36. Difference between GET and POST.
37. What do you do to hide the detail like Password while sending it to server? (Ques from my B.Sc-IT Project)

39. Don’t you know about base64?
40. Questions on AJAX and its methods. (I don’t remember the exact questions)
41. Tell me the complete process of optimizing a website. (Again ques from my job experience)
42. What is backlink? How do you create it? (Ques from my job experience)
43. Suppose there is one keyword ‘Computer’. For that one keyword, there are lakhs of site available on Web. How does Google decide which one to rank at which position? (Ques from my job experience)
