What is defeat for aspirants giving competitive exams? Is it simply not making in the merit list even after surviving in the race till last stage? The answer is Big NO! The meaning is bit broader than it seems, atleast for me. When we are out for achieving our goal, we make too many sacrifices. The level of competition in the field makes us challenge our limits. It makes us leave our hobbies. Sometimes hobbies are more than just a routine exercise. It’s like another life. But the journey towards our goal makes us do such things. We make distance from our friend circle. The same friends who were at sometime reason for our happiness. But it was the demand of time to move forward and take such hard decision. The story doesn’t ends here. Some of us even make distance from our beloved once. The preference changes, once we gave maximum time and space to our love but the demand of time replaces them with books. On the way towards our goal we don’t even care about our health and food. Day or night, all seems to be the same as there left no time to focus on other things than book, copy or notes. After continuous effort for 8 – 12 months comes the day of result and when such hard work and dedication is not rewarded by success then it seems like one of the worst nightmare coming true. The real defeat is not just the failure faced but losing most of the gems of our life on the way and then not getting the output for which we agreed for such compromise.
Does the game ends after the debacle? Hope
for ray of light always arises in the mid-night when whole world seems to be
bleak. It’s not an end. Atleast if we are born as human. We are born to fight
for our dream. Not quitting the race in-between is in our gene, it just needs
to be rejuvenated. So what if we lost most of the gems of our life on the way?
So what if we didn’t get the desired result this time? We can still make out
some positive aspects from our defeat. The knowledge and experience gained from
this unprecedented journey is no less than victory. We can utilize them for
redefining our goal. It will help in selecting the correct path towards our
goal in next attempt and surely we will make it one day. Just we need to have
patience, take positive aspects from everything, learn from defeat and never
quit. And one day whole world will be at our feet.
Lastly I will mention an SMS once sent to
me by one of my friend.
“Rakh hausla wo manzar bhi ayega”
“Pyase ke pass chal k samundar bhi ayega”
“Thak kar na baith aye manzil ke musafir”
“Manzil bhi milegi or milne ka maza bhi ayega”
Epilogue:
The view came in my mind when I myself went through such debacle. It’s
the story of not all but many of us.
